"Killing the Blues," by Chris Smither

Usually when I'm in the car, I'm listening to music, and usually singing along to it too. The artists are all over the map, but there's a lot of folk music.

Chris Smither is a really good musician, and I like this song, although in this You-Tube version it is hard to understand the words:

Killing the Blues

Leaves were falling, just like embers.
In colors, red and gold, to set us on fire.
Just like moonbeams in our eyes.

Somebody said they saw me
Swingin' the world by the tail,
Jumpin' over a white cloud,
Killing the blues.

I'm guilty of somethin'
I hope you never do, 'cause nothin' is sadder
Than losin' yourself in love

Somebody said they saw me
Swingin' the world by the tail,
Jumpin' over a white cloud,
Killing the blues.

When you asked me just to leave you,
And set out on my own, to find what I needed
You asked me to find what I already had.

Someone said they saw me
Swingin' the world by the tail,
Bouncin' over a white cloud,
Killing the blues.
I was killing the blues.

Someone said they saw me
Swingin' the world by the tail,
Bouncin' over a white cloud,
Killing the blues.
I was killing the blues.
Just killing the blues.

Yeah! Tomorrow I drive to Spokane, about a 4-5 hour drive, listening to music the whole way. Love it. Coming back home on Sunday, too, same thing.
